Saint Daniel's Chapel
« His apostolic program was reflected here in his development projects. Dreaming of enlarged buildings on the Rue de la Concorde, where nothing would be too vast and too beautiful for the installation of his young people, he wanted above all to sanctify it with a large chapel. It would be the focus of his parish works, just as his mass was the centre of his life. Dedicated in advance to Saint Therese of the Child Jesus, it was first of all for its edification that he destined the sums of which his patronage is the legatee. » François VEUILLOT, A suburban vicar, Father Daniel JOËSSEL, p. 147.
Daniel JOËSSEL therefore planned to build a chapel dedicated to Saint Therese of the Child Jesus. This project was carried out much later, with one small significant modification: it was not dedicated to the "greatest saint of modern times" (Saint Pius X) but to Saint Daniel, in memory of Father « Jo ».
Saint Daniel's Chapel was inaugurated on 11 May 1961, on the feast of the Ascension.
